I am a law student and former UNHCR intern. I spent last summer in Dadaab, Kenya refugee camp conducting resettlement interviews and documenting people's heart-wrenching stories of suffering. My biggest worry for refugees around the world is how they will be affected by global climate change, which has the potential to create millions more refugees from droughts, floods, and other violent 'natural' disasters. My personal goal is to use international environmental and human rights law to fight for the futures of underprivileged peoples and their right to live safe, peaceful, & fulfilling lives.
